Default First Gear Lockout--Robert?

Hey everybody,

I'm doing the 1st gear lockout the way Robert did his with a micro switch.

My question is, how is this going to wire up? Slightly confused where the two terminals on the microswitch would patch into.

I have an NOS wet kit if it helps. I'm assuming I am tappin into the arming wire? i dunno

help me out

Just tap into your wire running to the pedal WOT micro sw. Remember, wire it opposite (you'll need a 3-prong sw from radio hack), meaning when pedal wot micro sw in 1st gear in mashed to the floor and making contact or closed, the 1st gear lock out micro sw on your trans is open. Then when you shift out of first gear the pedal micro sw acts as normal because both sws are now closed, or making contact. This is for a single stage set up. Wiring using this method in a dual stage set-up is a little differnt. Hope this makes sense.
Here is the pic for anyone reading along.

Is it possible to do a first gear lock out with an A4? I dont see how? ( Assuming you leave it in Drive or Overdrive to race)

A4s require a controller for 1st gear lock-out.

What controller can do this accurately though? The one I use has to "guess" based on an assumed starting point, max RPM, and an RPM drop.

You'll have to figure that out with an ohm meter. One pair will be closed, and one pair will be open, or open circuit/closed circuit. Just check your wot on pedal and then choose the two prongs/terminals on your lock-out that will be opposite. You'll be good to go. Ohm meter can be used as a continuity checker, and that's what your doing.
