Default Solenoid problem

i have 2 NOS sniper solenoids and the wires comin out of the solenoids are really short. the groud comin out of the nitrous solenoid is in good shape and the groud from the fuel solenoid isnt there its like cut in half. and a wire from both solenoids are conjoined and thn they form a little blue wire and its cut after about a inch. is there any way to get new wires for the solenoids or am i gonna have to get all new solenoids

The wires are connected to a coil inside the solenoid housing, you can just replace the coil which will have new wiring.

Get a hold of Nitro dave at nitrousoutlet.com, he's a forum sponsor and great guy and can get you anything you need... you should be able to get either a full rebuild kit or just the coil. Not sure the cost on the coils.

You can take the covers off, and solder new wires on also. Take the old wire off, clean the solder up and solder new wire on of your length. Put cover back on, test and be happy.

you can pic wire up anywhere, nothing special just everyday stranded wire... maybe 12 or 14 guage wire.

Double check, but I think it is closer to 16 ga. 12 ga is pretty heavy wire. I've never seen that heavy of wire coming out of a solenoid.

you're right, 12 does seem a little to much for a soloenoid, they don't need much.

A good hardware store will have automotive wire and should have a selection of colors and gauges. I go to Westlake Hardware here. You can usually buy it by the foot or it also comes packaged. DO NOT end up in the house wiring section. They have stranded wire there also but the strands are heavier and it is not as flexable. It will work but the automotive wire is much easier to work with.

Also most auto stores carry automotive wire so you don't have to worry about getting house wire.
