I don't think any 1 person has tried both plates. So any comments are only going to be from experience with one or the other.
I have installed 2 of Daves plates and they install easy, look great, and work great too.
HSW plate looks nice too, but I have no experience with it.

If I wanted a very clean install and did not plan to spray alot, the HSW plate would be ideal.
If I want to spray more (which I do), or wanted a kit with a little bit more flash to it... Dave's plate fits the bill VERY well. I will personally be picking up one of Dave's plates to be my primary kit for the time being, then when I get around to putting a direct port on it, the plate kit will become the second kit. (I'll probably end up getting the dual-stage plate though... which means 2nd kit + oh-**** kit)

Our plates are not available to the public yet, so you won't find any end user experience on them. We do have a few in the field with one user doing a very healthy sized shot.

Dave's plate works great and looks great. Vinny did my install (thanks again Vin!). Very Happy Nitrous Outlet Plate user here.
If you have not seen the bench flow vid I did of Daves plate do a search, Dave's plate lays down a wall of nitrous

Pull your nozzle out and let nitrous spray through it where you can look at it.
For the first several inches the spray pattern is very tight and the air/fuel is not atomized together well. Ideally, on these cars the nozzles should be 6-8 inches away from the intake opening.
Inches make a difference in this kind of game, fractions of an inch can make differences. Don't believe me? Take out your fuel jet and put one in .010" smaller

Actually, take that nozzle and spray in a confined area (like a intake manifold) and watch how fast it fills. I am sure there is "some" bypassing of the first cylinders until the manifold fills (actually almost instantly at 1000psi), then all cylinders "take in" the mixture. If the bypassing of the first cylinders was an issue, ALL systems where the nozzle was "just" outside the TB would be having trouble.
Everyone has an opinion... Doesn't make me right or someone else wrong. I just look at what myself and others have seen, and I have never seen trouble with a nozzle placed in a plate behind the TB or a nozzle right in front of the TB with a space difference of 2 inches... I personally would be more worried spraying a wet kit 12 inches or more in front of the TB. That's a lot of area to coat with fuel...

I understand the concerns but i'm having a hard time grasping the issue when most people rarely follow the 6-8" placement rule anyway. Most of the time the nozzle is placed in the bellows which is only 2-3 " away from the TB to begin with.
I understand there is less time for the mixture to atomize but why can't you point the nozzle downward instead of straight back to replicate most current plate setups.

It is a matter of experience that bases opinons, I have experience with Dave's set up, and would stand by it in a second.
HSW has a pimp plate though! Just haven't had experience with taht set up.

Well the jury is still out on some of the plate kits. Some are not making the power as advertised, read the threads and you be the judge. Now does that mean there is no future in the plate kits, no not by any means. It really has to do with style of engineering and if it works as advertised. I am sure we will see some changes and re-engineering on some and elimination on others, possibly. Just my humble opinions at this time, and there are more plates coming.
