Default dynotune wet kit results on lt1

The car is a made 325 on motor and 426 hp and 468 tq on a 150 wet shot at 900 psi. my bottle heater was not getting any hotter than that. The horse power seems low to me for a 150 shot but it runs well and was tuned for safety. Any suggestions on why the hp was so low?

two reasons... one.. bottle pressure was low.. and two... their kits are probly rated at the flywheel... so you wont get 150 at the wheels.. it is gunna be less.

get the bottle pressure up and you should make 450hp (dont hold me to that.. lol)

yeah i did not excpect to make 150 to the wheels but 125 would have been nice on a wet shot

You are correct, Dynotune rates their jetting by flywheel HP.

Well you don't lose 1/3 of your power through your drivetrain, especially not his M6.

I am running a Two stage 200 shot and getting the 150 at the wheels. I am not up on the LT1, but on the dyno a fresh bottle with the same jetting was good for a 30 HP gain. My Base HP NA was 300.

We went with the 50 Dry @ 3000 and 150 @ 4000 RPM Bottle had a bunch of runs on it at this point

433.9 HP 485 Torque

Same jetting as above 50 Dry @ 3000 and 150 @ 4000 RPM but with a fresh bottle

466.8 HP 530 Torque

I don't think the blanket will get the PSI up, it will help retain heat, have you tried setting the heater pressure switch to go to 1025-1050? Remember increasing the pressure will likely change your AFR to the leaner side.

Give Dean/Dan a call, and ask for jetting for 150 at the wheels, thats what they did for my first kit.

If you have the dynotune heater you can raise the pressure up but thats not the way to go. Just change the jet if you want more power as Beer mentioned. Yes we rate the kits at the engine. With the variations in drivetrain loss its the only way to go. Give us another ring or email or PM if you need! Not sure how much you are loosing due to the Mustang Dyno numbers versus a Dynojet?

Yes the HP is a bit low. When you give us a ring we will try to figure it out.

Thanks,
Dean

You need to check you bottle heater for the proper voltage at the heater. Check the voltage at the connections very close to the heater itself. Then check voltage at the battery. The 2 voltages should not be very much off from each other. If they are there is a wiring issue.
