Default Nitrous without tune

How much nitrous can i run without a tune. I have the ls1 timing tuner and N20 controller. and i was wondering if i can run a 100 shot? The mods I have is full exhaust and a K&N CAI.

thanks

Wet or Dry?

Either way it would be a solid idea to have a tune. If nothing else just make sure your AFR is within a solid range. Pulling a couple degrees of timing definitely wouldn't be a terrible idea.

at the very least you want to have the A/F checked....if its at a safe level on the spray than you could go without a tune. i dont recommend spraying it unless you know where your A/F is.

BS.

Any LS1 that hasnt been fucked with can run a 125 shot without anything done to it. Assuming your fuel system isnt failing. No tuning will be required. You dont even need colder plugs. Just make sure your fuel pump is good and your in the 12 second club.

get a dyno tune a/f lean switch...very nice little option that will tell you your a/f ratio and also shut down your nitrous if you run lean.

sounds like someone tried to use more nitrous then was supposed to.

I ran a 125 shot for 2 years on stock plugs. I never disrespected the nitrous, so my car didnt get hurt from it. Because I played by the rules.

i only hit em with 100 dry. fouled up 3 plugs pretty bad but an 02 went out the same time, thats prolly what made it seem so bad. bout to hit the car with 200

either way i would def put tr6's in. better to be safe than sorry.

Why not make a couple dyno runs on the spray? Seems like it would be cheap insurance. I also would suggest in picking up an LC1.

i sprayed many bottles on 150 wet shot with stock plugs. not saying its good but can be done.

on topic, id get the a/f checked if its a dry shot, if wet then i wouldnt worry. many members here will suggest a tune just to be safe.

Even through I plan on getting mine tuned for N2O this summer, I've ran about 12 bottles though my car and all I've done is check my plugs every few shots, adjusted the jets as needed, and off I went, right now I'm running a NOS plate with a 100 fuel/125 nitrous jets with my bottle pressure at 1050PSI. Never had an issue. But I'm sure every car's differant.

One thing y'all are missing here is that every car can be different. Also, there are different grades of fuel depending on your location. There are tons of differences in tunes for the exact same car/yr. You should see all the different "stock" tunes in the HPtuners repository. So many have gone through the "mine works this way, so should yours". Forget it.
If you really can't afford a tune, or dyno time, get the A/F cutoff discussed earlier and a set of plugs. Both are too cheap to 'not' have.

there goes your tranny an ss4k and a 200 shot good luck with that

Tech isnt a nitrous tune just a/f and retard timing. If he is running colder plugs and has a timing tuner to pull timing when the car is spraying, then just throw it on a dyno and hit it watch the af ratio if your lean swap out the fuel jet to the next size and spray it again. repeat process.
