Do I need a fuel pump for a 150 shot if I already have a lean shutdown switch?

Default Do I need a fuel pump for a 150 shot if I already have a lean shutdown switch?

I bought a wet plate kit and was planning to limit myself to a 100 shot because I only have the factory fuel pump and don't want to change it.

If I get an air/fuel lean shutdown switch, I presume it will switch off the nitrous if ever there's not enough fuel coming to the engine, right? So theoratically I wouldn't need to upgrade my fuel pump to spray a 150 shot, would I? Sorry if I say something stupid, all this is new to me.

you should be ok with a 100 shot, but if you're going up to a 150 you'll probably need a boost-a-pump. After that, think about a better fuel pump. It's always a guess though unless you run a wideband.
If you have other mods, then all bets are off.

My car is an 02 and I run a 150 shot just fine on mind. And you will need a W/B for the switch to work to its fullest

Usually the 150 shot is the upper limit of the stock pump. Some will say less/more. It's all in the amount of risk you're willing to take. Get a pump and a fuel pressure gauge. Better safe than sorry.

why risk a motor over a relatively cheap pump

Yeah, I'd just do the pump. You don't need to go nuts with the Racetronix kit or anything if you don't want to. I just have a Walbro 255lph in tank in my car (had a hotwire kit but it fucked up on me) and it's working great for my cam/big shot car.
