Default ring gap

Can a tune be conservative enough to compensate for rings originally gapped to run N/A? I bought a motor, original owner was never planning on spraying. I want to run a progressive 200 shot. Possible?

With a progressive shot it should be fine as long as you don't get greedy with it (as far as leaning it out or bumping up the timing)

Thanks! When the day comes I'll tell the tuner that its gotta be a safe tune then, I'll let them know my concern about the rings.
