Had a small fire tonight
First time spraying the nitrous on the street.
I was racing white mongoose and we finished the run and went back to the street everyone was at.
Pop the hood and there is a small fire going on by the driver side header.
I rushed to the back of the car and closed the bottle.
Fire stopped and I figured out it was the line rubbing on the exhaust manifold.
Glad that the nitrous line got messed up and not any engine parts.
Nitrous line is now out of the way of the manifold, I may need a new one.
I'm gonna check it out tomorrow.

Well did you have your laptop out monitoring your manifold pressure while driving through a crowded street?
I mean, like that dude said your floorpan could have flown off. Count yourself lucky!

Thanks man!!! Just glad nothing worse happened.
I don't know either, I mean it wasn't a fuel related issue. So if I had a dry kit routed the same way as the kit I have right now, the same thing would have happened.
You guys watch too much fast and the furious lol

what had happened is the nitrous feed line had fallen or rested on the manifold, due to the line being wrapped in the plastic shield to hide it from plain view, it melted thru the plastic and thru the line, i think the plastic ignited the n20 causing the fire ball to come shooting out from under the car. along with that the driver side ect sensor harness had actually melted from the heat to the point of it changing shape and losing the little tab that holds it on.
trent you are so lucky it didnt ignite your fuel lines. if your lines had not been wrapped up in that heat shield from the factory your car would have been a gonner for sure. count your lucky stars.

umm last i checked nitrous isn't flammable.. you turning off the bottle and the plastic going out was purely a coincidence.. your plastic wrapping caught onfire do to manifold heat..

Turning off the bottle would get rid of some of the heat and size of the fire.
Although, it would not explode.
