Default Here's some goofy *** dyno #'s for ya'll

Threw my car up on a Mustang dyno today for a dyno day event...my only mods are headers and a 200shot...tuned with HPTuners. Apparently the car lost it's tune for some reason or something I can't figure out, because it acted like it hit a brick wall at 86MPH and refused to move...ended up with 445RWHP/533RWTQ

Torque seems spot on, I had it dynoed when I had a 75shot and it made 413RWHP/414RWTQ on a DynoJet. I just can't help but laugh at the horsepower

But have any of you guys heard of a car losing it's tune like that? It's odd because I guess it only lost part of it or something? Otherwise I'm sure the motor would have popped if it reset timing to stock...

Just ranting I guess, I'm still trying to make sense of it lol

Question

200 Shot on a stock motor? What kind of fuel are you running in it?

93 octane. No knock...everything checks out fine. People do it all the time around here.

Are you sure the jetting is for a 200 shot? What about bottle pressure?
Also do you have a walbro 255?

Those are what I can think of. My car made 534wtq on a 120 shot. Something is definitely wrong.

Yea, it's a rich 200shot...(N2O for 200 and fuel for 250). Bottle pressure was at 1150 and I have a stock fuel system. 534 torque to the wheels on a stock engine with a 120shot?! That just seems more than a little off to me. I know my horesepower numbers got goobered for sure because of the issues I had on the dyno but I still think my torque numbers should be correct...it is a Mustang Dyno after all so it's not going to read as high as a DynoJet.

To clarify on the dyno problems, I threw it in drive (not overdrive) and matted it at 40MPH and it absolutely refused to shift and go faster than 86MPH yet it shifted through all gears fine afterwards...although I did not mat it afterwards until I had it reflashed. I wonder if strapping it down too tight could do it? My car broke one of the straps and gave me a pretty nasty scare...shouldn't be doing that with the power I'm making IMHO.

Could have went lean because of the stock fuel system. Causing it to make less power.

Also, maybe the stock trans didn't like that increase of power.

That would make sense but we've tested it on the street numerous times and it just doesn't seem to be the case. I had 500lbs worth of passengers in the car including myself and the car got sideways at 60MPH and hit 140 in no time. And the stock fuel system is the reason I went with a rich 200shot...it doesn't appear to be running lean. It's leaning towards the lean side but it is still safe.

Torque management is supposed to be turned off...but like I said it acted really goofy like it lost the tune so who knows.

I just threw it out there to see if anyone had experienced anything like this before...

im gonnaa say this as nice as possibble...

pcm's dont just reflash themsekves back to the same tune....the best way i can explain it is its like using a cdr-rw you more a less burn over the tune that was there.....so there is no way possibble you lost your tuning....

if it wouldnt shift into high gear on the juice either your shift points need lowered or the tranny is on its way out....

nice numbers though for a stock car......gotta love nitrous
