Default Spray the TPI or just get a 350

I need to get more out of my 305...yes i've wasted the money modding a 305 b/c its all i've got right now. I want a 350 but cannot afford a whole motor plus install because of swapping from TPI to carb, ? is would it be at all a reasonable idea to put a 100 dry shot on a 305 TPI with 130,000 on it. I'm hoping that it would make the difference for the car on the 1/4 and that it wouldn't hurt the car if i don't "abuse" the spray. I'm only wanting the OPTION of spraying the car like once a month. Also, i have a 350 sitting on the engine stand (only missing a carb--all stock), what will i be looking at for a price of rebuilding it and just throwing it in the car? sorry for the long post appreciate any responses

First off don't ditch the efi. Go ahead and spray it but I would use a wet shot that way you know its getting fuel. The tpi will bolt on to the 350 when you are ready for the 350 but you will have to change your injectors to 22 lbs which was factory for tpi cars and change the chip and the knock sensor. I have sprayed my cousin's 92 tpi camaro with a 150 shot with 127,000 miles on the stock bottom end but that is the most I would do otherwise I think it would grenade. Check out stealthram.com and tpis.com they will be a little help in the aftermarket for you. I am currently putting on a stealth ram on a camaro with edelbrock heads and a comp 210/220 cam. Where are you located?

I did a carb/intake/headers 150 shot on my 305 TPI and it went from 15.60's to 12.80's... 55+ bottles were ran through that engine with zero issues. I think it was roughly a 21mph gain also. went from 87 to 107+

That's almost a 3 second drop just by arming a switch and putting my foot to the floor..

I got a Brand X kit from nitro dave's and i really like it, great bang for the buck, on the 50 shot i dropped from 9.6 in the eighth to a 9.12. didn't pick up any mph because the ole 700r4 is starting to give up the ghost and i had to let off. never got a chance to put in a bigger shot but it'll break the tires loose from 20 mph with the 50 shot lol. induction is stock, only performance mod really is a set of flowcrap headers

NOS makes a kit that will bolt on with a plate and NitrousWorks makes a kit also.

My 305 TPI loved the 150 dry hit i used to give it. 7.80's in the 1/8. Im not really sure what hit it was. All i had was a bottle, main line, solenoid, and a fan nozzle with no pill. Motor still cranks and runs to this day.

My 89 GTA that I have forgotten about has a 350 with a nos plate kit. The noids are kind of small but it hits as hard as my TNT kit and those noids are 3 times the size

these little 305 motors are pretty fun. Pwebbz28 did you have better injectors or any other mods like a stall?

Nope. Its was a 5 spd car with 3.42's. I was 18 and dumb. It was a kit with the fuel dump thats sposed to go to the fuel pressure regulator. We didnt know what it was and it wouldnt fit under the top plenum so we tossed it. I had this car in 97/98. It was fun to see the look on someones face with a ls1 car get pulled so hard back then
