This time it was the new timing chain, hardened pushrods and gasket kit Now the only parts missing are the 5.3 heads and the F-13 cam YEAH!!!

They're already ordered and it will take 2 weeks... This waiting game kills me.

he he that's true.... but I should do it while I can right?.... never know what tomorrow holds. I'm hoping the car to give the SOTP necessary to make me and whoever rides with me a big smile

Anyways.... I'll take the oportunity and ask Ellis a question here (if he gets to read this) -- If I decide to upgrade the oil pump, which one of the following parts should I get?

Thanks!!!

Ah, the infamous LS1 oil pump. That is a fine mod considering all the stuff you're doing Nick. What a mudda-friggin PITA it is to install tho!!! You almost need to be part spider to install that bolt on the pick-up tube.

Can I come watch?

Yes, that's exciting! I can't wait to get the parts that are missing. I keep thinking on how it will sound, how it will drive, how the torque will be, etc...

And Mark, yes you're more than welcome to come over and watch the surgery Dr. Ellis will be performing

Let me know when the scalpal comes out. If I can, I will certainly come help. Since I've done more of these than Ellis (can anyone else say that about ANYTHING?) I might even feel halfway useful. And I work cheap....worth every penny too!

I'm still working on an install gadget for that oil pump bolt. Maybe a piece of duct tape over the end of a wratchet wrench would work. A piece of sheet metal that clamps around it would be better. Knowing Ellis, he has some fancy tool that will work.

Hey Mark I actually helped Ryan screw up his...er Do his first heads and cam swap along with just about every one else at the time...four or five years ago

yeah we learned alot. ONE> DO NOT ask Ellis technical questions when he is on pain killers....This can turn into broken LS1 blocks! Well that and the fact that it was the first LS1 in this area to get those parts.

TWO> It is REAL important to clean the holes out in the block and NOT use Teflon sealer on them
