Damn, what is up with these places anymore? It seems like every place is screwing up everyone's orders. My last 4 orders have not been correct. WTF, over?!

is Sam Taylor a GM dealer? I have to recommend Sallee Chevrolet in Milton-Freewater, OR. They do lots of gmpp volume and UPS ground to WA and OR usually takes one or two days.

Wait a sec, Mike might be onto something. There are plenty of cams that will do you right for a daily driver and still make gobs of power. Plus, the LS6 springs you're getting are good, but will have to come out again if you go over .570" lift in the future.
If you've made up your mind, cool. I used to have a hot cam in my Z28 and I loved it. If you're still open to suggestions, there are a ton of experienced folk in here who can recommend a good daily driver cam that will net more than a hot cam and LS6 springs.
...for instance, Lunati grinds a 224/228 with .563 lift on a 116, 114, or 112 degree lobe separation angle. on a 116 you wouldn't even know it's in there except for the power. on a 112 it'll have an idle similar to a hot cam and make a little more power up top. it's got a more aggressive ramp rate on the lobe and more lift than the hot cam, so even though it only has 5 degrees more intake duration, it's letting much more air into the cylinder.

So what kind of gains over the Hot Cam are we talking. Do they have any kits like the hot cam kit cause I need everything....not just a cam. And Im on a limited budget of what the Hot Cam kit costs at Sam Taylor. Thanks

Well, you just missed out on this screaming deal:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/lsx-parts-sale/299470-ls1-stuff-sale-turbo-parts.html
you might find something similar. New these cams are $279. Used they're $150-250.
Comp Cams 918 springs are $150 and are good for 0.600 lift, I think. If you go with double springs and titanium retainers you're looking at $300.
So, for around the price of the hot cam kit, you'll probably get another 10HP across the RPM range out of a high lift cam over a hot cam with about the same duration. I'd suggest getting a good cam that meets or exceeds the capabilities of your heads, then keep that same cam and get a good set of matching heads later. lots of guys are making 430 RWHP on daily driver heads / cam cars - check out what they're using and build up gradually as you have the cash...

Lt1 Not Ls1
Ok all you arm chair guys.
How many of you can do it for the same price as the hot cam kit? Price was an Issue for us to do this swap. The gains are well known and sure there are TONS of cam's better then the hot cam.
BTW When you add rocker's to the prices above you are not going to touch the HOT cam kit
Bang for the buck LT1 Hot cam wins hands down
The ONLY reason we were doing a cam in the first place was because vented opti needed newer cam
This is a LT1 not a LS1 guys
