Default Wednesday night TNT at PR

Just thought I'd pass on some of the excitement from last night's races. There weren't too many F-bodies out there. The 2001 Anniversary Firehawk was there, DareDevil TA made a couple passes, and there was an LT1 Formula struggling to stay in the 15's. There were a few Vettes out there and one of them was the nitrous moderator that lives in Puyallup (can't remember his name). He was taking it easy due to his clutch acting up, but I saw a 12.20 at 119MPH. He was trying to hit the 11's and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he did later in the evening.

There was a Mercedes Benz CL600 AMG that I saw run a 11.9.......with a car seat in the back . V12 and fast as hell. The BMW guys seemed to have a rough night. A couple broke and were pushed off the track , but there were some decently fast. Nothing you guys couldn't have taken care of . Although I must say, something about some of those cars and the, uh hem, guys that drive them. But hey, to each his own. I just don't quite understand wearing a single racing glove while running 16's. I hope he felt better about himself!!

Blood enterprises had a nice 4.6L GT running 12.2's. Heavily built motor with a lot of Cobra parts, gears, 3000 stall and a ProCharger. Very nice and fast although I would have loved to see Wahusker run him and stir things up a bit. I talked to one of their employees and he was telling me that they dynoed a LS1 with good heads, big cam, somewhere in the ballpark of 387 cubes??, and a supercarger at 899 horsepower. He was actually waiting for the call from the shop to say that they hit 950!! And that was at 12 psi according to this gentleman.

So all in all, a good night. I can't blame too many of you for not wasting your time with the BMW's. They are so, uh, fast and all . I'll be out there at the next event, so hope to see some of you there.

I wish I could have made it. Not really for the bimmers. They be fun with the GTO, but I haven't met one yet that can hang with my TA. There may be some, but I haven't seen them. But I want to come to a TnT with Ellis so we can play with my stall / lauch. As soon as I make a tweak or two we will come play.

And I would love to race that s/c'd Stang. Pretty close to my full bolt-on+cam LS1. And I want to see how much difference there is between my car now & next year when I have a blower too. Maybe Charlie would be up for it. He'd dust me now, but next year....

You're car looks a lot faster on the launch than this Stang did. It was fast yes, but he just didn't come off the line with as much flare!! He was very inconsistent also. 12.8-12.6-12.4-12.2-12.6. But he just got the car back last week and he is running untuned. With a tune, everything could change. And learning how to drive it.

I did get to play with a BMW two nights ago. I was on my way to see Mr&Mrs Smith when this white BMW comes ripping up the road. I toyed with him a little at a light or two but he got me when the road turned rough and curvey. I did not want to loose it over a bump and send it flying into Lake Washington at 60mph (in a 30). I think that's why they don't fix that section of road, even though they just re-paved it less than a block away from where it's torn up ... but that's another post.

When I get a blower it'd be fun to run with 'ya WAHUSKER.

Until then I'll stick to my 13.5 dial in.

I'm always game for a go. I've only raced one s/c'd Stang. That was an S281 Saleen. His car was pretty new, so he might have been taking it easy, (he was granny shifting) cuz I beat him by 1/2 thru 2nd gear and that was before the cam, gears & stall. My car is a full second faster now.

I take that back, I raced a blown black 99-ish GT last year after the cam. We were side-by-side up to about 80mph when I started to inch away. I think my car had just broken into the 12s then. NICE sounding car....

I was impressed with the AMG too. It was a V12 Turbo. I think they cost about 100k. He ran 11.90 at 115. That would have been a nice race for me, but I was running with the cars with slicks in lanes 5 and 6. I hate to wait in the long staging lines for cars with street tires -even though I use drag radials. At PR, they're not always fair about equalizing the passes between catagories. I could have made a dozen passes on Wednesday but I don't think that's true for the cars with street tires.

The BMW guys were a little patronizing. While waiting for the gates to open, I was parked next to one of the small, late-model BMW two-seaters with an M3 engine and an aftermarket turbocharger. He looked under my hood while I was uncorking my exhaust and, with a contemptuous tone, asked why I needed a cowl hood. I ignored the tone and answered that the intake didn't fit under the stock hood. He didn't want to hear anymore. He ran 15's at first but got it down to 13.7's by the end of the evening.

There were two Cobras running for the Ford Drag Team last Friday. One ran 11.90 and the other 12.1. Unfortunately, we are almost all standard shift cars, not the best for bracket racing. They should run 12's, box stock (they have independent suspension preventing real hard launches). With a pulley and a chip, they run as above.

Yeah, I know what cars "should run". My car should have run 13.0 stock. It didn't. But I'd still like to race a fast mustang. A guy I know has a turbo Stang that runs low 11s. The pretty one that shows up at the track runs low 12s. He & I would be a good heads up race. Next year I will be looking for Charlie or my friends turbo stang. After my pine tree air freshener mod that is....made by ATI!

We'll see you next Wednesday

Yeah the S600's are fast... the S65's are even faster. the 05 SL65/CL65/S65 AMG's make about 603hp and 730tq

and all newer V12's are twin turbo'd be it an AMG or normal 600 the motor is almost a quarter of the price of the car not including labor

MB CL600 AMG......5.5L V12 493 HP 590TQ $129,720

It didn't say anything about a turbo. I thought MB was big on superchargers anyway.

The 600 series are Turbo, the 550 series are S/C I believe.

It said "V12 Turbo" on the badge and under the hood. It had a visible intercooler. The sales tax on that car is much more than I have in my car.

He was a first timer and it's a 6sp. No match for you bracket racing professionals. I bet he was trying to run you down.

Were you driving the blue split bumper Camaro? I think I've raced you before.
