Well as some of you know we went to Pacific yesterday. Well I'm in the process of getting some DR's, but I'm wondering how much they would actually help. I'm thinking of getting some 295/40-18 BFG DR.

2.2 sec - 60 ft
1/4 - 12.4x @ 114 mph
tires - stock P275/40ZR-18 EMT's w/ 30-40 % tread

So what type of time could I look to get w/ some DRs using this is a baseline in a sense.

Well, I do know the C5s are a little harder to launch than the F-bodies. But DRs should knock your 60' times down into the 1.9 range I'd think. And that roughly would put you into the high 11s. Getting a good ET is all about the 60'... if your 60' sucks, then your ET ain't gonna be near as fast as it can be.

I ran a 1.91 60' on 255/50/16s in my car on BFG DRs

Don't know if you have a 6 speed or not, but mine is. I think I could have gone faster but I think the stock clutch was holding me back.

Also, you need to heat these up which either means power braking or line lock (prefered method)

It's an A4 so, I'm thinking I maybe able to get it a little quicker than that, 1.7-1.8. One ZO6 yesterday at the track was geting 1.7s, stock w/ DRs.

I'm just using your 2.2 60' as a baseline... in general terms, DRs are gonna be worth .2-.3 off your best 60' with regular street tires. But a 1.7-1.8 is definitely possible...

Ask Doug how much dr's made a difference. You'll be dancing awful close to a 12 flat or an 11 is my guess. You're an auto with heads and cam if memory serves, you should be pulling well below 1.8 60's with that trap speed. There's .4 right there.

Sounds close, but yesterday when I hit the 12.4 I bogged, then let off n got back on it so I'm hoping/wishing 11.8 or better. I'm just trying to see what these veterans think w/ their past experiences, how I'd fair.

You should break an 11 then I would think. You can't go wrong with a drag radial of some kind.

Do you think you'll roll on the street with your dr's? If not I'd just get some ET Streets or something like that instead of drag radials. Mine are just about worn out. I have BFG DR's and about 30 passes on em, most of those passes were last year. I think I've only been once this year so far A set of ET streets should last at least two full seasons if not longer.

They say every tenth off your 60 is two tenths in the quarter. That is of course if you run the rest of the track without flaw.

Seemed to be true for me last night so you can use that *roughly* as a guage.

11.8-9 would be a good estimate if you can get your 60' down to a 1.8-9

Kinda weird slip...definitely seems like you bogged off the line. 12.4 with a 2.2 60' should be trapping a lot higher than 114. If you can knock 2 tenths off your short time, then you will should be borderline 11's.

What is your rwhp and race weight?

The way I look at it is for every .2 off your 60 ft. It is right around .4-.5 off at the top of the track. So if ya do the math, you SHOULD get right around a 1.8-1.9 60 ft with DR's. Which would put you right around 11.7-11.8.

It is true. every tenth off your 60ft is worth twice that on the top end

I am guessing 1.7s easy

If you are going to change at the track i would gett ET Street Rad's and if you are going to use them all the time go with Nitto 555Rs or 555RIIs

I am 60ft 1.84s in Stephs car on the 555RIIs I could get 1.7s if I retunned and raised the stall at the line
