3160 lbs Woohoo!!!
Well my pig is down to 3160 lbs with about two gallons of gas in her w/o me in it. I am pretty stoked figuring that I was 3280 last round of weight reduction.
Now i just need 9" w/ 4.33's (**** ton of weight added)
Big n littles (hopefully cancels out most of the 9" weight)
Shocks
Roll bar when i get kicked off track.
All of these should be here by the beginning of next season. So hopefully when i finish my tune and get all this stuff I can break 11.2's cam only and then maybe 10's cam only with a few more tricks. We'll just have to see

Weight reduction mods are as follows:
! a/c
! front bumper support
! back seats
! spare and jack
! very rear speakers
! windshield washer fluid
! factory exhaust (replaced with td's)
! driver side airbag
! Heat shields
$ mods
Solid motor mounts
Lightweight battery
Racing steering wheel
Theres probably a bunch more that im missing but i'll figure it out eventually. I still have a bunch of crap i can do but the cage and 9" will probably add another 150 lbs so i'll have to look for where to pull more out.
I just want to get to the track man. I will probably make pacific for the Oct. 28th race. Will have to see how much my new clutch and tune net me.

Thought I would butt in ...
My CMC Firebird is 3020 with a cage, 15 gallons of gas and fire supression system.
CMC is a road racing series which requiers the car to remain mostly stock, just safety additions.
What I found ...
The black matting underneath the carpet reaches all teh way to teh base of the windshield. It weighs about 30 lbs
The passenger side airbag and all the associated bracketry adds up to about 15lbs. Beyond that, completely gutting the dash, leaving nothing but the shell will yield another15lbs.
The body seam filler goes all the way forward and if you work at it, you can remove 4 or 5 lbs.
All the brackets that hold the interior panels and seats weighs a tick under 20lbs.
The stock wiring harness, front to rear weighs almost 80lbs, including looming, hold downs and connectors. A Painless Wiring engine harness weighs about 16 pounds.
All the heat shields underneath add up to about 5 lbs.
Aluminum rear suspension parts will save 5 lbs over stck and 8 lbs over steel.
A Trans AM rear hatch weighs 10lbs more than a Formula rear hatch.
Safe-T-Lite glass is DOT approved and the front glass is 2 lbs lighter than OEM. Many installers will use 2-3 tubes of sealer when installing the glass. For a race car, 1 tube will do.
I saved 10lbs by losing the glass T-Tops and making aluminum panels to put in their place.
There is 2 lbs of weather stripping on a T-Top car.
20lbs+ can be saved by stripping the doors of glass, mechanism, wiring and inner skin.
Just a few things I found when shedding weight ...

Also i thought the fab 9 was only available with the aluminum center section which isn't good to daily drive.

I went with alluminum but with the massive amount of street time mine sees I am not to worried about it
I'll have to call Billingsley tomorrow and price it out. The driveline solutions one is only $2175 built using a moser housing and strange center section. and if it aint much more than 30 lbs or so over stock then i wont lose any sleep over it. I can just take that off of my ***.
But if the price isn't too much more (300 bucks or so) then i'll opt for the lighter pimp doggy billingsley housing with a street friendly pumpkin.
I'll probably pm you tomorrow jason and shoot a few more q's your way. I'm still about 2.5 months away from ordering it so i have some time to work all that stuff out.

Well after some searching looks like the 9" is 72 lbs heavier than stock on a few different cars so looks like i'll be adding quite a bit of weight. We'll have to see what all can be done to negate some of it. Looks like a fab 9 housing is definitely going in my car now.
