Is it just a monitor? No tuner built in?

yes, just a monitor.
There is an Optional TV tuner for this guy that costs an extra $50.
you can install it yourself (like installing a PCI card in your PC)

The samsung is a good set top HD Tuner

Or your cable provider's set top HD box.

I just got a Optima H31 DLP projector, on a 98" screen it looks great, and "only" cost $1000. It does 1080i. MIght be an option if you have the space. YOu can watch it with the light all the way on, and looks perfect if they're dimmed about halfway....so light saturation isn't too much of a concern.

I have Comcasts HD/DVR set top box feeding my Hitachi HD rear projection big screen. My 25+ year old Mits 27" tube just took a crap on me so I need a nice 32"-42" widescreen HD flat panel TV for the bedroom.

There is not much better than this for the $$$$ especially the 1080p part.
Also the new Westinghouse 37" LCD is using the same LCD panels as this BenQ model, Its a lil cheaper too.
