It sucks but not much we can do about it. I have to drive so they get my money, I don't mind paying, that isn't to say that I wish gas was nice and cheap. I am just glad I don't have to pay the prices of Canada and Europe.

The tax has already been added(at least the first part). The vote was to rescind(sp?) the tax. Last I heard it was failing, but it was close enough not to call until absentee ballots are counted.

If we end up paying the extra gas tax, at least the accountability bill passed so they won't be able to do what they have done for years and just put it in the free-money-for-the-governor fund.

So, math time: we already were paying 37¢ a gallon in taxes so adding another 9¢ means we are paying 46¢ a gallon in state taxes.
Just ONE question: Where is all that previous tax money per gallon gone to? Wasn't that also supposed to fix the roads too?

I don't have a problem paying the gas tax............Now is just not the time to have it implememnted. That tax included with the current high prices is murder. I refuse to get rid of my car..........but I won't be able to drive it as often as I'd like

Well, one way to not have to pay the tax is to consume less.
Wifey and I have parked both of our trucks and she is driving
her Miata and I'm driving the Prius.
We have cut our gas consumption by two thirds or more and are driving the same number of miles.
We only use the trucks now to haul stuff.
They are paid for so they can just sit......The governer can just go without
the taxes on the gas we don't use anymore.
I don't understand why we can't turn Alasken Way and I 405 into turnpikes.
Those that use them can pay for them.
I mean, what's the difference? The Tacoma Narrows is putting up toll booths.
The people that use the bridge pay for it, don't they?
