Default Anyone want a '04 GTO?

I found two of them today, at dealers right next to each other.... both '04s....

One is a Barbados Blue M6, 6800 miles on it, they want $21.8K for it.

Next door is a Cosmos Purple M6 with 4300 miles on it... From the way they were talking they woulda tried to match that price.

I walked on both of them, but it was mighty tempting. I still might go back and work them on that blue one. I don't think I'd ever hear the end of it if I bought a third purple car.

There's a silver 04 GTO at the chevy dealer in Marysville. I don't know what they are asking for it. They had it in their newspaper ad as "Loaded,Loaded,Loaded, Must See". I don't know though, I mean I know the mechanic that took car of the car when it was new and he kind of neglected it compared to how he took care of "his" car.

It's an automatic, though, isn't it?

Yeah it's an auto. I thought the ad was kind of funny because I know what they paid for it.
It was the one car in the ad without a price.

There aren't any options, other than transmission, that is correct.

Well, they do come pretty nicely equipped... and I have to say... the interior is damn nice and really comfortable, and they are very quiet and smooth. Damn impressive, to be honest. It's a lot more refined than a F-body. It would be an incredible commuter car. Shifter is kinda sloppy, though, I would definitely want something different.

I am trying to avoid buying a car right now.

Ya know, if they can make the new Camaro as good as the GTO, it's going to be a smash hit.

I know but it cracks me up to see it listed as "Loaded" when every frikkin one ever made (04+) is loaded.

Yeah, you and I know that, but Joe StupidCarBuyer probably doesn't. I always crack up when the salesmen try to tell me about the cars, I always know more than they do about the cars I look at.

If I was going to buy an '04 goat I would definately have to have the purple one. It is the only year it was offered and the M6 was rather limited in that color. But between the '04 and '05 I would rather have the newer one with the LS2 and the more retro scoop hood.

Yeah, I agree.... I just don't wanna get purpled out here. I have two purple cars already, three is getting a bit ridiculous.

Now you know why we love our GOATs. I decided to keep mine, for now, rather than going for a used Z06. As a daily driver it's top notch. I may still end up with a Z06 later on though...we'll just wait and see how the new lineup looks in 2009. A new Zeta platform with the ride comfort of the current GTO will be very appealing.

Personally, I'd love to see you with 3 purple cars.

Yeah, I have to say that the purple interior is pretty cool.

Believe me, I could pull that one off a lot more convincingly than I could telling people I don't have some kind of obsession with purple cars.

How about an obsession with rare cars that happen to be purple....Hi Performance Pontiac Mag. had an artical with how many 04s were built with whitch options... I will have to look it up.
