My guess would be Flat black as it's not going to shine back at you when you put the light on it...

I would say Gloss because of the shine it will appear deep. Flat is Flat.

Dupli color has a pretty good web site.

I guess another question would help what are you after?

If I read your question that you want to shine a light at night and not see it would be flat black, like the armed forces. Gloss in shiney so it will reflect light.

That's somewhat of a loaded question. Usually when people refer to 'depth' in paint, it's in reference to how shiny/reflective it is, meaning it reflects your image when you're looking into it and you can see objects behind you etc..

What are you looking for?

I agree. Deeper would be the gloss. Less reflective would be the flat.

I dont want it to be reflective as much as just plain black. When the sun hits it what color will it show. I used semi flat and it seems to reflect the orange of the sun, more than pronounce the black. This is for whistler mod. I'm not painting the reflectors, just the bezels.

Nothing reflects off my super flat black hood on my Volvo.. You can't wash it either.

flat black will not shine as everyone has pointed out and flat will appear to be grey rather then black so gloss will be deeper black I guess you could say.

What about bumper black paint for the whistler mod? Can be washed and is a flat paint.. just a thought.

It really depends...a DuPont Satin black will appear black, not gray, but is still flat in nature and takes on a really cool look.
