Default Helmets

Ok where is the best place to get one today in my area? Would a motorcycle shop have the helmet I'm looking for? Are they the same helmets or drasticaly different. Getting ready hit the road in search and I know theres a few shops in Beaverton.
And what about color ? Is the black helmet considered ? It matches my car

A motorcycle shop is the a good place to get one. If you only plan on using it for drag racing and not motorcycline, I would suggest a 3/4 (open face) helmet. Make sure it is a street bike and not a dirt bike helmet. Not all dirt bike helmets have the snell rating sticker in them. You can usually pick up a plan black 3/4 helmet for around $60- $80.

So a snell 05 approved motorcycle helmet is ok then? Lot of people use them? I dont want to stick out like a sore thumb, my driving will be bad enough without looking like an *** too I was looking at the Bell pyrotec online for $109 but I wouldnt have it for tomorrow. Whats up with the weather? Is it supposed to rain now?

Most mortorcycle helmets only have a DOT rating, which is NOT good enough. If it says Snell 95, 2000, or 2005 on it, then it is good for drag racing.

I called the one big place in Beaverton and they said they have snell 05 rated helmets. I'm guessing thats the 2005.. Are the motorcycle helmets heavier or lighter to wear?

No more Snell 95s.

No, the difference between a M2005 and a SA2005 is the liner is fireproof on the SA (which stands for Special Application) and the SAs are designed for multiple hits on a roll bar. The motorcycle helmets are designed for one big hit.
