yeah, IMHO it looks like normal buildup of products from running an engine. Probably haven't seen pictures before cause usually people only take pictures of there new stuff.

I remember all of the crap that was built up on the intake valves of my 327 when I rebuilt it...holy crap.

You need to run a catch can.

Thanks for the replies! I feel much better now.

I'm going to clean the heads and everything there as best I can...........then I'll put it back together. It'll be better for the engine I'm sure!

If you go to the Corvette Forum do a search for catch cans, lots of info and DIY posts. There is a guy selling kits on the C-5 parts section, you can buy em on E-bay.

Completely normal John. I use an AMW catch can, and it keeps 90% of the oil out of the intake, even with the blower. Theirs are even pretty (anaodized). And less oil reduces knock too. Ellis found some cheaper catch cans if you don't want to spend $100. PM him & I'm sure he'll hook you up.

Summit sells a plastic catch can for about $27 IIRC. But then it's not bling, just black plastic.

I'm all about functionality. I don't need bling.......my speed speaks for the bling!

Thanks.....I'll look at Summits site. Do you recall if they have it on there website?

I used a small air compressor water filter on my Formula when I was drag racing. Seemed to work fine and cost maybe $15. No bling though.
