My pops has a Bullet 21XD w/ Mercury Mod VP. Does 83 mph (GPS verified) with the current prop on the 6800 rev limiter. He has gone faster with a bigger pitch prop, but it is real lazy out of the hole. I have personally driven it to 73 mph, but it starts chine walking all over the place and I had to get out of it (Less than a foot of the 22' boat in the water). Not enough practice driving it for 5 minutes once every three years. He can drive it over 80 all day in rough water rock steady.

Had a friend with a 31' Suitphin (sp?) twin 440 mercs. you'd be doing 65 at half throttle and he'd punch it up to 3/4's, it would throw you back. It seemed like it instanly hit 90 and with that 21 foot of nose in front it was smooth as glass. That boat was just plain sick. Looked like an offshore racing boat.

Yep, I think anyways, in a 16' er, or at least 60mph. Power trim/prop and 150 Merc BlackMax. I finally slammed into the side of a cabin crusier out in front of Point Defiance. I learned real fast that tequlia and fast boats don't go together. I do have an identical hull and frooze up motor on a trailer out back if anyone wants a project (cheap).

I have gone 65 in a 7' hydro we built when I was a teenager. It was 7" deep at the back and had a 20hp motor on it. It was definatley a rush going that fast with your *** right on the water.

He since sold that boat and got a new one with twin hand built modded Viper motors. I haven't gone out yet but he did 117 on the Columbia...

Not quite. Our Sea Doo "only" went 66 (the wife set the top speed of 67). 0-40 it was faster than our TA when it was stock. But that is ripping along on water.

I have... and much faster in fact. My family's been into boat racing for decades. We have a 9 second 1/4 jet boat. We used to be into circle racing and then did some drags. My Dad set 8 world records... We ran 500ci fuel injected motors. The fast class we ran was Comp Jet- also participated in some superstock, prostock and k-boat aside from jet boats.

Not trying to sound like a dick... Just the facts. Without going into too many details that's the long and short of it.

O M G! I just can't imagine that... the Columbia scares me enough just running ***** out in the fishing boat trying to get back to dock.

Here's the engine room (my domain) of the last boat I helped build, Vic Edelbrock Jr's 116' mega yaucht. Only went about 25 knots though.

And just so you don't think I am bull sh*ting. Here I am taking another boat up the waterway back to work in Tacoma.
