Quoatas........kiss my white butt. LOL! Yesterday I was at the bank and ran into a old businees partner of mine. His son in law just happens to be a WSP trooper in Snohomish County. I made mention that I had to go to court this morning for the ticket I got at the end of last month when the WSP was out in force. Bob made mention that his sons captain has made it very clear to them that they are out to generate revenue for the communities. He even said that his son has been told that if he does not make 3 CONTACTS PER HOUR on his shift he is not eligable for overtime. And when he means contacts that has to be something written and handed to the driver of the vehicle and warnings dont count.
So there you have it. Pretty much right from the horses mouth. The only thing closer would be to have Lance tell me himself. Basically if Lance doesnt write 3 tickets per hour his captain wont authorize him any over time. The way I see it is the troopers are pretty much railroaded into writting bullshit tickets sometimes if they want any over time. And anyone that has been in law enforcement or had family it in knows the bread and butter comes from the over time.
BTW, my ticket was dismissed this morning. The judge looked at me and said "Mr. Goff you were caught going...............(looks at her computer).......5mph over the limit?! Um.......and there isnt even a ticket here, just a note saying you were 5mph over. I dont normally do this in these proceedings but I am going to dismiss this ticket, consider your trip here today a warning".

1? That's crazy...I've seen people get pulled for 5, but not 1...come on! You can't accidently go one over? Some of our Speedo's are hard to judge the single numbers...That blows me away....Unbelievable...

Wow, interesting to hear.
I know Mountlake Terrace PD they log all their Infractions, Criminal Tickets, Warnings, and Contacts each shift, but aren't denied OT or anything if they don't write so many tickets an hour. I mean obviously if they're giving out 50 warnings and 2 tickets they'll get talked to but if it's balanced and they're doing there job it's not an issue.

I had to attend what I call Reckless Driving School once (a.k.a. a driver reform program) as terms of getting a Reckless reduced to a Negligent. The cop *said* I put my 330ci sideways in the middle of the intersection in Redmond but what does he know.
Anyhoo, at Reckless Driving School they told us that traffic infractions is huge business in WA state. This was back in 2001 that this happened, but back then they said annual income from traffic infractions was $60M.
It *is* big business. All I have to say is if you get an infraction (in Seattle area), call Jeannie Mucklestone.
