Default Tech issues on stock Z28?

I don't *think* I'll have any tech issues with my '99 Z28 at the track, but I want to double check with the experts.

I remember battery hold-downs being a big issue before. Mine has the factory hold down. Will that work? Anything else I should be aware of?

Thanks

Drive shaft loop not required if the factory installed cross brace is still there. The one behind the transmission crossmember.

Hopefully its stock or you are gonna need a rollbar.

Yeah, factory cross-brace is still there. Yes, its completely stock except for some of the programming stuff I did to it. ;-)

BTW Ryan, saw your car at TT last week. Its sweet! I asked why it was there. They said something about you and eights or something. I didn't ask too many questions. Lol.

I was at the track friday night going through inspection. They looked at my battery, and the guy there was able to wiggle it around. I looked and thought wtf? Another guy my age came over and looked to see what the hold up was. He told the guy looking at "I see them come through like that all the time, though it wiggles it isn't going anywhere." I still need to look at that and tighten it down, use to the battery being in there like its a 500 lb rock.

I think I asked this question at the club meet - there's no problem with the car being a convertible, is there?

speaking of tech at the track

do I need anything special to run ET streets on stock camaro (16x8) wheels. Seems like I read something about screw in valve stem. And since they're stock wheels, stock lug nuts/studs are fine correct?

Yeah that's what I heard on here too, but I got yelled at down at Pacific last time and he said next time I better have a real one.

If it's a convertible you're probably going to need a roll bar..

Yikes. I don't know what stock LS1 Z28s run but seems like it could be close to 13.50.

"Honey, gotta put a roll cage in your car..." She'd love that. She already accuses me of fibbing when I say it's *her* car. I guess if I go with the cage, may as well add slicks, cam, 4.10 gears, torque converter, Ellis 4L60E and a 100 shot of nitrous. And maybe a better life insurance policy. Lol.

My stock 02 Z28 A4 ran in the 13.8's most of the time when stock with the 2:73's. The verts are heavier and I see most in the upper 13's stock. Doesn't take many mods to drop below 13.5. I never had a issue stock passing anything for the track, I did have a problem last time with my dark window tint, but they let me run.
I run nitto's on 16x8 wheels and nothing was required extra with the stock wheels, lugs etc.
