Default heading over to dyno at TTi

Interested in checking things after adding Borla Stingers, a little extra boost, and a re-tune with methanol injection. Here's hoping that I don't pull a Robert!

Results are in:
664rwhp
564rwtq

It gained 100hp by switching to Borla mufflers and tuning with methanol. Nice!!! I knew it was running strong, but didn't know it was THAT strong. Can you believe this is running thru OEM catalytic converters?

I got video that I will try and put up later. For now, here's the graph:

So when you are using the meth, are you using it as just a safety factor, or are you actually advancing the timing some more when it's on?

The timing was not changed with the methanol, and is set pretty low compared to the factory tune. The meth does provide better fuel that it wants due to 10.5 LS6 compression. It removed all detonation on 92 pump gas.

Hey Chris don't mean to hijack your thread but how does meth injection work different than nitrous? I've always been curious.

They're similar:

The methanol is straight fuel, and uses a pump to push about 150psi to the nozzle.

The N20 is oxygen, that requires fuel compensation. It pushes from having avg 1000psi stored in the bottle.

Methanol works to basically increase the octane level of fuel. I ran a Snow meth system in my 540rwhp Lightning and it allowed me (and anyone else) to 'up' the timing without worrying as much about detonation.

Meth doesn't increase power in and of itself, it only lets you get more aggressive with what you've got.

Good luck Chris...if it pings LIFT!

Heh that's cool because I dunno if I can go much longer without wanting to upgrade.

Although it is a significant amount of work that I don't look forward to!
