Default 4th BBQ &/or cruise?

Linda got the day off so we could go to a big bash this year, that is now not going to happen. And Steve G says he is going to be in town. So I'm curious if anyone would be interested in going for a little put somewhere? Take a drive, stop & drink a brewsky, bring the women along so we don't get arrested, head back to my place for a bbq afterwards.... (or someone else's place if someone wants to volunteer)

Just a thought, supposed to be nice, let me know what y'all think. (& yes, you blue oval guys are invited)

Mark

I still don't know if I am working or not on the 4th.

If not I would love to do something.

Got an offer from Edmonds to be in their parade, so I volunteered our kids instead.

Have a BBQ to go to after but am free in the evening AFAIK.

So where are we headed? We could do the Northwest loop. I know people have been wanting to do that and right now with all the flowers in bloom I bet it would be a nice drive. It's about 400 Miles round trip. And looking through the calendar on the site it looks like some of the towns might have some celebrations and things going on for the 4th. It could be fun to see.

North Cascades Loop

Another suggestion is Mt. St. Helens. I've been wanting to see that forever. I've been here most of 37 years and haven't gotten to see it up close. My dad did the cement work at the observatory So if we don't see it this trip, it is on my list of things to do this summer.

Anyway, what do you all think?

That Cascade Loop is one hell of a drive but certainly would be cool in a large-ish group.

I'm out for the cruise as I have to work until 7 or 8 that night. Taking the day off on Monday forces 10 hour days the rest of the week. :\

If a BBQ is still in progress it'd be cool to swing in and say hello.

Just got word today. I am in.

Mt. St. Hellens would be hella cool. Or someplace like Long Beach. North Cascade Loop would be fun as a group but last time we tried that only about a half dozen people showed up.

400 miles?! Damn, I don't know if I can soften my shocks enough to survive that distance. Linda votes for the north route. Both sound cool tho. We'll talk this morning when I get out to your place Steph....

400 miles? Count us out. We have plans in the AM/early afternoon and a 6+ hour drive just won't fit.

Enjoy.

That would work better for us. Linda works Tues nite so we won't be able to go until noon. If some of you want to leave early & take the long trip, go for it. But we will be doing a shorty.

I did pick up 10lbs of pork to make my bbq pork sandwiches. And Doug will bring buns. Moira says she'll make a couple cheese cakes & the M-sville strawberries are available.

I have some pop too. So if someone can bring some chips, salad, beans & some brats I think we're set. And Mikes.

I'm down for whatever... More inclined for some kind of GTG / BBQ stuff than a cruise. I like the idea of a cruise, but I think the 4th is a bad day to do it on... everyone and their brother is gonna be on the road... could be pretty miserable, especially for some of the faster cars.

Hell, just coming to some of your places is a cruise for me.. LOL
