Default Seriously FAST Bike

One of the guys I'm working with down here in Tampa (yeah, I'm STILL here) just bought a SWEET bike. It's called an MV Augusta, the link to the model he bought is below. It's supposed to be the fastest production bike you can buy.

http://www.mvagustausa.com/web-mvagu...F4_1078RR.html

Quite an impressive ride.....over 180hp, slipper clutch for down-gearing, adj dampening suspension, 4 piston 12" dual front Brembo discs, 0-60 in 3 sec, top speed 193mph, & the tach goes to 17k, and it has no red-line.

I may need to look one of these up when I get the car back together.

Nice bike but I hate the idea of how the swing arm, is a single arm going to the left side of the bike.

That means everytime you launch it hard, or accelerate hard, you have to compensate for the pull to the right. It may not be much, but i would not want it at all.

I'm sure that's been factored into the design.

It's a very nice bike, but it only marginally outperforms my 2005 GSXR for twice the price tag. I'm just a poor redneck. American sports cars and Japanese sports bikes give me the bang for the buck my budget can handle.

That is a super nice bike and fast but the title of fastest production motorcycle is below. Insanity. Stupid fast and stupid expensive though

MTT Turbine Superbike, also known as Y2K Turbine Superbike, is the world's second wheel driven motorcycle powered by a turbine engine, created by Ted McIntyre of Marine Turbine Technologies Inc. Powered by a Rolls Royce Allison 250 series turboshaft engine, producing 238kW (320hp), this motorcycle has a recorded top speed of 227 mph (365 km/h), with a price tag of US$150,000. It is recognized by Guinness World Records as the "Most powerful production motorcycle" and the "Most expensive production motorcycle".

That is an awesome looking bike and I bet quite the ride. Speaking of scary fast bikes I found this video awhile ago and it still just does it for me. Hopefully a few people havent seen it yet.

Its funny how after going that fast, Goin a 100 was like going 35. lol.

That is pretty bad ***. none the less.

NVME, Ya I figured they would factor that in, but they can't get rid of all of it, its impossible.

The idea of doing 100+ mph with the front wheel off the ground is a little daunting, but personally, I really don't think that video is accurate. I really can't picture someone can hold a wheelie at 135 mph

On my old bike and by old I mean a Hurricane I had when I was in high school 20 years ago. I could ride a wheelie well over 100 MPH. It isn't really that hard if the bike has the power and you are a pretty good rider. Not being very smart doesn't hurt either. We used to take off our plates and go out on the highway and ride wheelies going past cops at night. By the time he got some backup we'd be gone. Turn off the lights and don't lift.

Something fishy about this one. Most speedos are connected to the front wheel. If the wheel's in the air, how does it accelerate? How can any machine accelerate as hard at 200+ as it did at 60?

I say

I agree. I dont know about the speedo thing, but that thing doesnt even slow accelerating til after 200. And after it hits 220, it still gains 1000 rpm.

I believe most of the newer bikes have a sensor on the sprocket cover to read the speed. As far as the guy actually going that fast it could be a speedo that is calibrated for KMH with a MPH face. It would make it seem that it is accelerating faster than what it is.

My '86 GSXR speedo cable was connected to the front wheel. All of my other bikes have been connected to the drivetrain.
