Default Might have to get a hairdryer

I got my issue of Hot Rod the other day and one of the stories got me thinking about getting a turbo for my 68 pickup project. If you happen to see it at the store or wherever, take a look at the Junkyard Dog article. The guy who's car it is, is probably on LS1tech too.

Anyways, the basics is a 78 Ford Fairmont with a stock 5.3L w/ Z06 cam and a cheapo MP70 turbo (articles says its from China). Anyway, this little combo is makeing 602 RWHP and running in the high 9s.

Well come next year this time frame. I should hopefully be looking at this option for the car.

Or I am going to buy a car that is allready done up, and keep mine as a daily. Thats what the wife wants anyways. So we shall see.

The Fairmont in the Article weights 3200 lbs with the driver in it.
I doubt it is lighter than a Mustang. The Fairmont is bigger and it was the first fox body.
Ford shortened the Fairmont chassis to make the Mustang

That was Parish8 on the boards that had a hand in that. They play a lot on 1320video.com. Yes you can build a cheap turbo setup that is still fast and reliable, you just have to know where to put your money and where to find a deal.

I would use a little borg warner S366 or S400 unit before a master power though, a lot more reliable but around the same price.

**** go to the bone yard and find a Turbo dodge with a Garrett. Cheap Cheap Cheap. Those turbos maybe to small but they make good boost for a long time.
