Default bad news

Looks like I wont be doing much driving over the next couple months. I'm on the varsity baseball team at my highschool and on saturday we had our first game. First two innings went well i had 3 strikouts and no hits or walks, well to make it short, on my first at bat i was running to first and landed on the bag wrong and i broke my ankle. I tore a ligament on the inside of my ankle and broke a bone on the outside. So no more baseball or driving for he next 6 to 8 weeks... damn

6 to 8 weeks Min.....

I broke my ankle two years ago, and I am still having problems with it. it doesn't help that the navy wanted to keep all the hardware in my ankle, now I have a broken screw that they can't take out... On cold days it causes a lot of discomfort.

I did alittle more damage than you did, but still. Ankle breaks are usually the worst ones.

I broke mine Trail riding in Pine Valley east of San Deigo... About 4 hours away from the nearist house... Lol it sucked hard core....

Hope you get well soon, your young and full of energy, so you should have no problems bouncing back..

Oh and are you a smoker??? I would assume the answer is no.. But if you are, you may wanna quit now, cause if you do smoke, it will take that much longer for your bones to heal..

you mean me? That was eight years ago. Trust me there was no driving my car after that fire.

For me I needed my hand(right) to be 100% when they were done no exceptions. The Dr and I talked it over and to get what I wanted and make sure there were no future problems I was in a cast for 12 weeks. The boke I broke was the one all the viens feeding my hand wrap around. If I did not let it heal properly I could have lost the use of my hand in the future.

I just made sure to do the right thing. as much as I hated all those casts they put on I can not tell I broke my wrist today

However i just went into the orthopedist yesterday and found out i have to get surgery on my ankle to remove all of the bone fragments i broke off of the bone. no permanent cast though which is interseting, they said ill be on crutches for 4 to 5 weeks then they are going to put me in a walking boot i think, i dunno. not looking forward to surgery thats for sure

just an update.. the surgery went well and they removed 10 bone fragments from my Talus bone which is technically a foot bone but it is where the two leg bones join the foot... when they were in there they also found another fracture in my fibula... which is the smaller of the two leg bones. the doctor also sutured my torn ligament while he was in there.. so the verdict is now 8 to 10 weeks plus pt... also i have pictures of the bone fragments if anybody wants to see them.

have a good one guys

I'm a smoker and if I broke my ankle I wouldn't want to try to quit, because I would be so unruly that there would be a lot of other broken bones on the people around me after I started punching them.
