When I was younger I used to test drive all the newer cars when I would pull up in mom's Cadillac no one would even question me.

The G8 just does nothing for me though.

If you want 4 doors, fun, and a reasonable price tag the G8 GT is where it's at. If you can afford the next step up, then wait for the GXP. If you can afford another step beyond that...the new CTS-V will rock.

A G8 GT will be in my driveway shortly after I get back. Cool cars.

I drove one a few months ago. I might get one. Really like the car, but I'm a little turned off by its gas mileage.

Yes I test drove one a few months ago and almost purchased it. The wife said no you have enough cars already but really it was because she liked the car and knew I wouldn't let her drive it.

As I told the salesman the wife does not approve so I will wait on the GXP release before I make a purchase decision.
If I was concerned about GAS MILEAGE I would go buy a Honda or Toyota. When you buy an American V8 gas mileage goes out the door when it comes to performace.

Im getting 30 mpg in my GP GXP driving 45-55 mph on the way to work (when I decide to drive it, keeping miles low to trade in on a G8 GXP when the hit)

I'm getting 26-28 mpg driving back and forth to work in my vette. From reading on the G8 forum, people are getting like 19-21 mpg in similar driving situations. I would expect a little more, maybe if the GT comes with a manual.
