1. The show has never really been profitable, the organizers have lost money on it in most of the years.
2. The attendance has declined in the last few years, this has made it even harder for them.
3. After this year, the new Braves stadium which is right next to the hotel will likely increase the cost of the current location making the show even more financially nonviable (this was the nail in the coffin).
4. If they simply increased the cost of the registration, the attendance would probably go down even more (there are already some people that attend but do not pay the registration fee).
