Question Clearcoating

Anybody ever had their car re-cleared. If so how expensive? Is it worth it to revive look?

I'd imagine that the paint underneath the damaged clear would have to be reworked first. I think you'd be looking at a repaint, but then again I dunno about body work...

is the paint isnt it bad condition you just scuff it down and reclear it. personally if your reclearing the entire car you might as well shoot some new base on it because your taking the car apart anyways(door handles, weatherstrip, etc) and thats where a lot of prep and labor time comes in. basically the only price difference is going to be in the materials which by the time the moneys spent in a good shop to reclear the entire car you might as well of spent the extra couple hundred bucks.

i agree, going that far better off for a re paint, but why not try buffing the car first before you spend thousands on a paint job

Applying clear over old paint is just asking for a big headache. Spend the extra money and get a full base and clear.
