ripples?
I had my Z28 sitting on jack stands while i did my tranny build.
Now that the car is off the jack stands and in the garage, i noticed many weird ripples in the rear 1/4's around antenna/spoiler. (more toward the top of each panel)
could this be caused by it sitting on the jack stands?

ripples normally happen from the torque on the uni-body. sfc's wont make the ripples go away but will prevent them from becoming worse. also prevents torque twist of the body. sfc's are a good investment. torque twist can throw the doors out of align

just weird how they weren't there before we jacked it up, at least never noticed them..
but they're noticeable now!
so paint less dent repair? hopefully no body work

you probably never noticed them before. Hopefully the stands were on the frame or axle and not the body's pinch welds. But I still don't think event that would cause ripples up top.

jacking it up wouldnt cause ripples. but as stated u do need to be careful where u jack the car up. i only notice my ripples at a certain angle. mine arent noticeable enough to go as far as paintless dent repair. dont know how bad yours are tho

This is a touchy subject, many think its due to chassis flex (which it could be), and think it will be fixed with SFC's (which it wont).
Assuming it is actually from chassis flex the SFC's wont help because they don't reduce any flex past the LCA's, which is where the car would be flexing (if it really is the case) to cause these dimples.
There are many that have SFC's and still get the dimples:

Search for torque dimples, there are so many threads on this, I just picked out a few example posts of what I'm talking about.
