Angry Rim Paint sux...

My black rim paint is chipping...went from glossy to opaque, what kind I do to fix this problem? And it just happened by itself.......brake dust??

what would i do? strip the wheels and powdercoat them.

if you want to go cheap use duplicolor wheel paint/clear coat. if done right it looks professional

I HIGHLY recommend epoxy paint for appliances, did mine black, came in rattle cans. came out great no problems, i do not recommend duplicolor

I used Duplicolor wheel paint on a friends rims and It's been a year and is holding up fine. For very little money it comes out very good and you can use the clear on top for added durability as mentioned above. I was very impressed and it does give professional results.

I bought a powdercoat kit from harbour freight and a used oven for $20 and i did my rims that way.

i used high temp engine paint on mine. its been a year, and no chips and the finish is still glossy.

I don't care which paint you use, no rattle can paint is going to be worth a ****. You either need to powdercoat them or use a 2 part solvent based paint/paint with hardener.

I agree with Phil. There is a reason 80% of the brake calipers that are sent to me for powder coating were painted first, and are chipping and fading like crazy.
