Default Window Scratches

There are vertical scratches on my driver side window. I have seen them on many f-bodies. I guess it's from something being worn down inside the door. Anyway, is there a way to fix it or would the window have to be replaced?

I don't know about fixing it but it is likely caused from the window stabilizers being broken or the felt pad on the end of the stabilizers being knocked off. I'd get some replacements ASAP. It'll only get worse. I'd check with someone that does windshield/chip repair to see if they can be filled and unnoticeable.

Same thing with my car, I had them buffed with glass polish and it removed them but they came back in the same spot. I'm going to have to take the door apart and see what it is.

Just like 98redM6 said, you need to replace the stabilizers before the scratches get any worse or your glass shatters when you close the door. There are two of them in each door. The GM part number is 10257988. PartsTaxi.com is an LS1Tech sponsor, they have them for $11.14 each plus shipping.

Also, I don't know if any sponsors carry glass polishing kits, but I know Eastwood sells kits to polish out scratches.

Yes. The felt is attached at the end of the metal bar.

I had this same problem a while ago. It scratched the hell out of both windows in mine. I bought the replacement stabilizers at the local dealership, been fine ever since! At least after i got the windows retinted

Steel wool can get crap off the window then use a buffer and some compound to buff the window back out.
