Average Paint Job Cost?

Average Paint Job Cost? I'm sorry if this is redundant, I searched and could not find any real info.
I'd like to gather a broad range of information of paint jobs and their cost. If anyone would like to chime in with how much your paint job cost you, what was entailed (removing panels, engine bay, door jambs, etc), and how pleased you are with it.
I'm completely out of touch with how much to expect for a professional job and would like the opinions of you all, whom I assume to offer a very wide range of cars, areas, paints, and customization.
I'm looking at some sort of color close to SOM for my TA after I get a ws6 style hood. I've seen a few colors close to that and I liked it a lot, but couldn't find much pricing info.
I don't need super show car quality, I think stock paint looks quite nice though i know most people would scoff at that and say it's shabby.
I've had beaters painted at earl scheib/maaco, and that's the extent of my knowledge.
