From Silver to Black
Well, I was sick of rolling around in silver, but I'm broke as hell to afford a pro paint job, so I did a buttload of research on the web about auto painting, and here's what I wound up with. I didnt think to take pictures until after I had started, but it aint that hard to google "silver formula" I also did the T/A hatch swap before starting this project.
Here she is just after the last base coat but before color sanding:
And this is after the color-sanding and a go with the rotary and a liberal amount of Super Duty Polishing Compound:
I'm gonna hit it up with some swirl-and-scratch remover tonight or tomorrow, and I'm still in the air as whether to clearcoat her or just slap on a good wax on the base.

If you do not clearcoat the car you will have no "UV" protection from the sun and it will start to weather and eat the black basecoat. On the flip side, if you have exceeded a 24 hour window on the dry time of the basecoat, you need to sand it all again, re-apply basecoat and then clearcoat. You are NEVER supposed to sand and buff the basecoat.
