Default Trans am vinyl overlays

I am having my 1997 TA painted in a couple weeks. I am going to buy some vinyl overlays for the bird on the top of the front bumper, the TRANS AM on the doors, the PONTIAC on the rear, and a decal for the center tail light section. I am not sure what color to go with on the vinyl; the car is going to be all white, I am thinking about doing all red, all black, or a combo of both on the vinyl overlays. What colors sound best to you guys?

i dont really like how red looks on white IMO, but it might look nice if the red vinyl had a black touch to it. Maybe like an outline of some sort. Or even better, id make a black vinyl with a red outline

Here is where I am going to order them http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/vinyl/vinyl.htm. I don't think he makes a black with red outline; but that sounds like it will look good.

Silver or chromed would look good against white. It shows but it's subtle, not such a stark contrast.

I'd go Black. White cars with black accents always look good, get your windows tinted too, if they aren't already.

Black vinal overlays on my white T/A... I also have the "Pontiac" filled in out back, but no pictures.

Since these shots I've pulled off the side mouldings.

Good looking car, just like mine except I have t-tops. I am going to do black on the doors, the bird on the bumper and on the pontiac on the rear. I am going to go with white on the rear center section bird/trans am. Car is going to paint in two days as long as there is no rain.

Haha... it's actually on the list of things to do while she's in the garage this winter.

I never really liked the pinstripe, just havn't gotten around to taking it off yet.

Yes it has to go, depending on how long it has been on it might show in the paint if he removes it. That's why I am doing a repaint; I had a 30th black stripe down the center of the car. I am taking my car in Monday for paint; hopefully if this rain decides to finally quit, then I am going to contact Brent for the overlays. I decided to go reflective black on everything except the rear center section between the tail lights is going to be white.

If its not too late, consider having your BC base white with no tint mixed in. For whatever reason, GM white variants have a hint of yellow. My friend just had his '94 painted straight base white and it makes my wife's brand new white suburban look like smoker's teeth

I told the painter I want it as white as they can get. I just dropped the car off today and will post pics this week end; I hope it looks good only paid $600. I did all the sanding/prep work and I also removed the lights, mirrors, molding door handles and more.

O.K I went to pick the car up and they screwed up. They tried to pass it off like it was good, but the hood turned out like crap; there are fish eyes and a large run. I pointed it out and they say bring it back in a week and they can buff it all out 100%. I don't think it can be buffed out; the run is built up high and is really rough, the entire hood looks like it has tree sap on it. I guess that's why it was only $600, they cant do a perfict job the first try. Don't get me wrong the paint looks really nice except for the hood. I am sure they will fix it, or I will just have to make the hood peel and get it repainted using my five year warantee. The hood was a new never painted truefiber ws6 hood, what could be the reason for such a crap job only on the hood?

Sorry to hear of the paint troubles.

Good luck to them buffing it out, I can almost picture the hood in my head and it makes me cringe.

Thanks, yes its a nice fitting hood looks like the factory ws6 hood, but the paint turned out like crap; I don't think they primed it. I am going to tell them screw the buffing it needs to be repainted and offer to sand it out myself; then I can fix a couple small dings I see in the hood also. It will look really nice when it's all done, but it is just going to take a extra week to finish now. I just got all my vinyl from Brent, but I am going to wait until the paint is done to install them.
