How do you remove the weatherstripping at the top of the door...

Default How do you remove the weatherstripping at the top of the door...

without breaking it? I'm refering to the one at the top outside of the door that goes from the front to the back and is black. It may be called a molding by GM.

Hopefully this works....

if your refering to the one out side of door at the glass they are a pain in the *** have to take mirrior off then take window guide out and then what i do is from out side of car grab it fom against and pull towards my self then up

Just pulled two of these out cause the car is going in for paint. Easiest if the windows are down all the way otherwise you risk scratching up your glass. Mirror and all has to be removed like above poster said. You have to kind of pull on it at a slight angle toward the interior of the car and it should kind of pop out. Once you get one end out the rest will go fairly easily. Try and be gentle with it, think they are $150 a pop or so from the dealership. Usually the metal clips that hold it in place break and it won't stay latched in correctly when put back in.
