Red face Favor to ask: C5 fiberglass mold of Taillight bucket/cup

Anybody out there with a C5 feel like making me a quick fiberglass mold of ONE taillight bucket? Obviously from one I can make the 4 buckets I need for a custom project. I've asked a couple Vette guys around here but they're worried about me f*cking up their pricey car despite answering all their questions with CLEAR concern for protecting their car! I don't really even need the mold "finished" all nice. Just a quick FG of the bucket with about a 1" lip of the outside. I'll do the rest. I appreciate any help! Even a taillight bucket from a destroyed bumper would work! I tried posting this in the Corvette area with just a few looks so since there's more of this kind of work in here, I reposted. Thanks in advance Fellas!

I might have an extra C5 bumper I can cut the buckets out of for you, I'll check tomorrow.

Wow, that'd be great! I'll just need one since I'll be needing to fiberglass them to mold into the panel I'm making. Should cut shipping cost too.

Plan on molding them into a tail light filler panel are ya? You must have seen that red Camaro with it done I'm guessing? Personally, I was always kinda on the fence about it, but I think I might would go with C6 lights instead, but not sure...

Squee, I'm making a complete fiberglass panel to replace the taillights AND filler panel on my Trans Am. It'll be reshaped a LITTLE to flow with the rear hatch better. I'm using the C5 lights because they're oval. The C6 ones are plain round. Also, I want to recess the lights a bit further than factory. The decision comes where I'm not sure if I should use 3 on each side or 2. The image that sticks is 2 C5 lights on each side with smaller round reverse lights to the inside with the bottom edges all level. Since it's on a Trans Am I'm also gonna honeycomb the lenses!

You can believe I will! It'll probably be some time tho. Being unemployed gives me plenty of time to do these low cost projects but this cold weather and lack of garage make it difficult again! haha

I thought I had one that was cracked we could cut up for your project but it's a good bumper still. I'll keep an eye out though!

Could you make a quick fiberglass mold of one of the buckets?

I really hate fiberglass but I'll get some wax and see what I can do.

Which bucket? Theyre all different

each location is affected by the curvature of the bumper.

If that's the only difference, then it won't matter which one. I guess either of the inside ones would be best. I can modify them as I need. Thanks guys.

The inner ones are deeper than the outer ones, and the lefts lean one way while the rights lean another. Plus the curvature of the bumper.

And I look forward to seeing it done but being unemployed isn't helping with the funding. As I get money I'm only able to do small projects or small bits of big projects at a time. That and the cold has put the brakes on my work.

It may be none of my buisiness but what happened to the Marines? From the sig., it looks like you were a Sergent in the Marines.

I'm a Marine Sergeant, and I was thinking the same thing. I don't see a good conduct ribbon in his awards....

^ You still active? And I see that now about the ribbon. Only one of those I have is the 5th one over going left to right, .
