Super hawk hood

I have a Super hawk hood and The stock saftey latch will not work ? Did they sell a aftermarket latch or was there a Mod. done to the stock latch ? I really dont want to drive the car with no safety latch knowing my luck .

I have a superhawk hood and use the stock latch, I just cut the release handle and welded back on to make it short
