I don't get it.

All this effort and money to make it look like an LT1? Part of the nostalgia of Camaros is how they look different in each generation and how each generation has different looks depending on year.

I own both types of cars, and I can't really say that I like one look more than the other.

I will say, that the LT1 nose makes that car unmistakable. The LS1 cars are often mistaken for other cars....

Both of mine are the same color.....and I can't really say which I like better, but I have to say the LT1 looks more aggressive, and the LS1 looks more sneaky/smooth...

Here's some pics of both of my 4th gens, style of SS Front.....

All worth it to me. Car is finished. I just need to fabricate a 8 bar billet grill to put on.

to each his own but if nothing else just having to switch from a nice lid/ram air setup to an elbow and hot air induction cone filter would be enough to change my mind on swapping

LT1 Camaro guys cram lids under their stock hoods, and an LS1 car has more room because of the lower radiator support crossmember. So there goes that argument. And the LT1 WS6 ram air box is better than any lid setup.

John, your car looks awesome. I need to get the motivation to have mine painted.

The car looks awesome man. I finally got my car back together. I'll post some photos of it this weekend. I think I'll keep it together for a month or so before I take the rear out. I think I'll paint the underside of the car then.

So I'm looking at my Z and SS and I have a larger fender gap in the front of my SS then my Z. With that being said I know the Ls1 is lighter than the Lt1 but from what I've have read a completely dressed Lt1 is approximately 100lbs heavier than a fully dressed Ls1. So I'm really considering doing the 1" lowering A-arms from BMR. I think between the car being lowered via springs, and a extra 1" drop in the front and the front spoiler, this car is going to have a really aggresses stance.

Sounds good. My car was already lowered when I bought it. I left the front lowered and I put stock springs in the back to fit 275-35-18 in the back, I have 245-45-17 in the front. I looked at my car from a distance the other day and you can really see the height distance from back to front. Hope I can see your cars this summer.

So the SLP SS hood finally came today and with a bunch of help I got it home. Cleaned it up a bit

I was also able to pretty much finish the car this past weekend. All that remains is to screw in the inner wheel wells.

What's the latest on the 2002. I'm interested in buying the car. Do you still have the older SS hood. I'll buy it if it is for sale.

After reading through this whole thread I started thinking,, if you planned an engine swap anyway, why didnt you just buy a 96-97 SS and LS swap it??? Seems like would have been way less of a headache than having to do all that body work**

A decked out LS1 with SS hood, ss grille, nice headlights looks killer though. But stock is awful looking. Idk LT1's look good in just about anything lol.. stock, SS hood, harwood, cowl, stinger, all look amazing.
Personally, I prefer the look of the LT1 Camaro to the LS1 Camaro. The lines flow better and I think the recessed headlights make it look meaner. Granted, the lower portion of the bumper dates it somewhat. I also like how the 1993-1997 cars look like an evolution of the third generation Camaro. The LS1 cars look like catfish. The 98-02's need different or modified head lights to look good.

On the Firebird / Trans Am side, I have a differing opinion. While the 93-97 Trans Am has smoother and better flowing lines, I like the aggressive looks of the 98-02 cars more. I have always hated the rear bumper of the Firebird and Formula cars. I hate the super pointy front end of the 93-97 cars as well. I do like the standard nose on the 98-02 cars allot though. I do really like the WS6 and Firehawk hoods. Lastly, the base Firebird and Formula spoiler ******* sucks. I hate it.
