Default Is it a good price? Powdercoating Wheels

Well im calling shops around to powdercoat my Z06 wheels and last place i called they wanna charge 150 a wheel to powdercoat black. Ive also gotten 75 a piece as well so its all over the place as far as pricing. I dont want to get ripped off, whats a good price to get wheels powdercoated? i live in LA area and not sure. Is there a good shop that does it for a good price in LA?

I was quoted $45/wheel, as long as I do all the prep work.

45 aint bad at all, the one thats charging me 75 a piece wants me to do the prep work, take the tire off the wheel and just take them the wheel to paint. Im like ok so my car is stuck at tire shop for 3 days till they paint the wheels and then go pick the wheels up in my chevy cruze econo car take it back to the tire shop and have them install it. So in the end its 75 to paint and atleast 25 a tire for the other shop to install them back on not to mention im taking up space for 3 days over there at the tire shop and the biggest thing is just going back and forth, lol.

I pulled the tires off the wheel, dropped off the c5z wheels... Thursday.....
Picked a color, he handled all the prep work.stripped the chrome peeling finish...

Had them all back Saturday morning $85 per wheel... they came out sick..

The site sponsor on here Powder Pro who I had powder my wheels said if I just went 1 color it would have been $80/wheel, but he does charge for tire dismount/mount. Being me, mine weren't $80/wheel..

$150/wheel for a 1 shot color is a joke.

This guy was making it such a big deal saying i have to remove center caps paint them as well, then i have to dismount and mount the tires and it will take 3 days to do it. Im thinking well what else are you suppose to do, you paint the center cap and you mount and dismount tires, its not like its something unusual im asking him to do. Im like 600 bucks for the job i might as well start looking for new rims, lol.

Well, it depends if your centercaps are plastic or metal. If they are plastic like mine you can't powder them, they would melt. You would have to paint them. I'm lucky mine still go fine with the wheels as I stayed pretty close to the original color.

Wonder what a clear powder coat would go for, I would assume near same as a one-shot job....

Yeah I think I was quoted like $250 for all 4, so you are almost on the market.

I paid 150 for sandblasting, silver, and black powdercoat for the wheels in my sig. I had to tape them off but 150 for all for wasnt too bad. Had to paint the caps my self.

Mine was done in BFE michigan by some good ol' boys who thought my camaro was exotic as hell. lol
