Default Dupli color?

Any used the duplicator matte clear coat you can buy at Oriellys? Opinions pictures reviews are all welcome!

It's just a lot cheaper at 24 bucks a qt than at 70 bucks for the real ****

EDIT: Here are some pictures of the finished product

Coming from experience with the duplicolor line... If you are ok with repainting in a year because it checked up badly and faded out then it's alright, but by the time you figure in the costs of a respray yearly, it adds up to the price of the good paint.

I think the Duplicolor line from auto parts store is lacquer base paint. I would go with something like Nason for around the same price.

I will sand down later for a resort but it actually turned out really good. I sprayed it overtop of John Deere blitz black and looks nice IMO

So you put a lacquer clear over a urethane base? Get ready for all kinds of nastyness soon. They don't mix well.

Thanks for the input but its actually an enamel base and when you do your research you can find that yes while laquer will dissolve enamel paints, if you apply it in thin coats after the enamel is dried it will work fine. If in a few years it ***** up I am not afraid to paint my car again seeing as this is my third time on my car alone. Thanks for your input but I will try things on my car as learning experiences.

thanks nhra!

some people are just scared of painting i think because it is a big task that is easily fucked up. Thats all part of the automotive industry though and i like to be able to do it all. I want my car to be completly my creation. That includes paint. The only thing i am a little leary about doing is tuning it when i get mods that require it. I do want to learn how to tune but that is something that i think may be best learned from a pro as opposed to just jumping in to figure it out!
