Rear filler panel

Default Rear filler panel

Hi guys I bought a rear filler panel from a member on here and was wondering if any body has some info on how to change it thanks car is 2000 ws6

Roll down the carpet under the hatch unscrew the 14 screws or so that hold on the tailights pull them off swap fille panels and put everything back on

Mine has 2 rivets was wondering do I need to re-rivet the panel cause the new I have has no provisions for rivets and thanks new to f bods

There shouldn't be any rivets. The filler panel is held on with like 4 nuts. I'm pretty sure you have to take the tailights off too. Give it a little tug because there is some sealant on there and it should pop off.

I will send some pics were the lock cylinder goes into the filler panel it has two rivets I have taken all the wing nuts off that hold the tail lights and lights are out

The lock stays on. The filler panel should come off around it. Unless something was broken and they fixed it with rivets. That's the only thing i can think of. When I took mine off it just popped off.

Ok so the lock cylinder stays in the car also mine looks as if tail light mounting studs go through the filler panel

You HAVE to remove both tail lights to get the filler panel out. No big deal, they are all plastic wing nuts. Pop out the tails, and just give the filler a little tug, and your done.

Yeah I ran into the same issue as you thinking that the lock cylinder may have to be taken out. Although it is just the few bolts and popping out of the tail lights too. Takes about 5 minutes if that!
