So I always skim through CL to see if I could find any deals on something I want.
Today I found a WS6 hood listed for 300 in my area. I messaged the seller and found out that it is an aftermarket hood but he doesn't know what kind and that it was painted maroon.
Is there anything to look out for when buying a hood?
Since it is painted I'm assuming that it had body work done to make it fit better.
Should I try and see if her will let me put it on my car before I buy it?
Should I bring a bolt off my hood to make sure the threads on the hood are not stripped?
Also how much do you think is a fair price for painting it black? My friends dad quoted me for $300.

$300 is not a bad deal if its professionally done. If he would let you put it on first that would be best, that way you can make sure you like the way it fits. It looks like a good hood from the little that I can see online, so good luck!

$300 sounds like a killer deal for both! If the painter is good that is.
