Well I had already taken it to a body shop, got a quote of around $700 to fix it and paint it pewter to match my car. He said to save money i should look into doing the repair work myself. My dad and I have a some experience with body work, I just don't know what to get.

That hood may be repairable but it will never be strong or safe. The area that's busted out of it is the most critical area on the whole hood. The complete latch support has been ripped out of it. Something to consider.

A hood flying open at triple digits is a bad bad deal.

hood pins perhaps? take some or most of the load off the latch.

That's what I was thinking too, put some hood pins on it and you wouldn't have to worry too much about undue stress on the latch!

Well thanks for all the help guys, but I ended up selling it. I think it was too big a project for a high school kid. I already bought an aftermarket hood that is already painted my color and has been on the car and it fits well. Sold the red hood for what I bought this hood for, so I think I did pretty well lol.
