Opinions on next dumb idea
Planning my next mods to go along with my unusual front conversion.
Got my new quad exhaust hooked up. mocking up rear bumper.
Considering fitting & modifying dodge challenger tail lights into my large bedcover, reshaping it some also.
front view
rear view during exhaust mockup
Concept pic with challenger lights
same, but with 59 chevy profile removed from bedcover
Opinions? don't be too hateful

John94, great minds think alike.
Was actually my previous thought. someone's photoshop, ignore bumper area.

My thought was that the vette lights would look more goofy to some & that the challenger lights, properly manipulated, would look less recognizable to the average person as to where they came from.

I don't know why but when I look at those rear shots my mind just goes to the 88-98 chevy fullsize truck, tahoe, suburban tail lights. The shape of the rear just feels so much like that shape, just not feeling the challenger tails that high up or any tails that high up really. That said I love using parts from other cars to make something unique, I've done it myself.

Thanks, Dante.
I have looked into many other lights in different locations. 2014 Camaro lights could work, just not my favorite. El camino side shapes are similar enough to 88-98 chevy pickups that their tail lights have been grafted in, although the most custom pickups get rid of those lights.
WTF am I looking at is the most common question, or should I say facial expression that I get. Say what you want about clown cars or some body lines not flowing smoothly & catching your eye, etc, but at Daytona turkey rod run I had larger crowds than the FOOSE Hemisfear did.
The main reason I decided to consider challenger lights is because of the way they stand out nicely without having any type of unique shape whatsoever.
Also trying to decide if I want to go through all the trouble of removing the 59' chevy tailfin profile from the handformed aluminum bedcover like my last pic??

just not really feeling that bed cover to be honest, something I remember from my truck days was guys would french in some caddy tails like this
I always kinda liked that and I think it goes with the vibe of your car, but really just need a less "in your face" bed cover to start, I've got some crazy body concepts of my own but neither the skill or cash to get them done, plus everyone hates on my idea on here anyway, not that I care. I love originality.
