Default Hydrographic dipped winshield cowl

Just had mine done, carbon fiber design with a coat of sparkle clear. The CAI lid was also done last month.

Thanks to all, I just couldn't stand the old faded worn cowl, now I have to paint the engine bay when the car goes to the paint shop.

I like that, i would consider doing that if it were able to be done in a matte/flat finish.

I like the cowl! What is a fair price to pay for hydro-dipping?

I don't think so. If I understand the process correctly, it's what you do after it's dipped that's important for making sure it turns out right. It should always be clear coated after dipped to ensure it doesn't peel and make sure it looks good.

X2....I never would have thought of hydropainting, even though I have used them ion the past. I did a small piece for my interior and it wasn't even $40. Local guy who did it on the side as a test. How did you prep yours...or did you let the hydropainter prep it? Cost involved?

For a piece that size, that's a pretty good deal (especially since you didn't have to prep it yourself). Sanding and prepping the plastic can be tedious and a P.I.T.A..

The part must be painted first, then within 24 hrs the piece needs to be dipped into the film. After that clearcoat and done.

I did mine in white carbon fiber 2 years a gi when we got our tank. Since then my interior and engine got some attention.
