Default What to use to touch up inner fender lip?

I just rolled my fenders, and had some cracking on the inner lip. I don't want to just leave bare metal for rust to spread, but I also don't trust myself trying to tape it off to rattle can it either. What are your suggestions, and what is a good touch up paint to use?

Also, how long do I have before they start to rust?

Why not? It's just the inner lip, correct? If so, there is no blending necessary since there is a 90° bend that separates it from the face of the body.

My '02 had some rust issues on this lip, so I ground it down to bare metal, primed it, and then painted it with I think 3 coats of color followed by two coats of clear, all rattle can. Masking was easy because, again, it's a lip with a 90° bend. All products used were Duplicolor brand, and the repair was about 4 years old when I sold it and still holding up fine. I also stuffed a bunch of newspaper inside the wheel well to prevent overspray from getting on the undercoating.

Keep in mind, I'm no expert with body work or painting, but this was an easy job.
